Over the past few weeks I've really just been working on recording the basic drum and guitar parts for "Slow Motion," which has somewhat difficult. Most of the time has been spent on deciding on the final drum parts to use for the song, as well as trying to find a good, clean acoustic guitar sound for the song. However, I think I've settled on how to arrange the drums, and I hope to finish up the basic tracks within the next few days.

After that's finished, I'm gonna begin recording a song I wrote and performed live a couple of times in late 2002. This is actually the "newest" of the set of new material expected to appear on the next album. Entitled "This Gift," it is actually inspired/based on a quote that Debra is very fond of:

"A lover is someone who knows the song in your heart
and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten
the words," - anonymous

I think it's such a great quote, and when I first met Debra, sharing music with her was an important part of our relationship. It still is. So "This Gift" expands on that quote and also stands as "a song for my baby."

All the best,
Kevin
