Subject: When I was in college they had ribbon roping for the first 2 years. I won a bunch in that event by slinging it right across the line. Then they took out ribbon roping and put in team roping. I kinda did the same thing on the heading side. Only team roped at the college rodeos and not the pro's. But was always impressed by H.P. slinging it. The horse I had in college I could reach and rope with ease. In 85 when I started with my bay gelding, I had to ride up closer, as he would throw you over his head if you reached to far on him.
