Subject: Gary and I live in the same town and I had never met him until he showed up at the ranch. He looks like about the toughest guy you would ever meet but is really one of the nicest people you would ever want to know. JA is the only paid hand. We put in a full day and he was pretty good help. The damned cows are so wild I told the volunteers not to show up until after dinner. They only helped working the calves.
