Subject: Rylen is off in Redmond playing in the district All Stars right this very minute! We have 3 age groups for All Stars: 9/10, 10/11, 11/12. Last year was the first year we let Rylen put in for it. You have to sign a letter of intent that you are willing to put in the time and $$. He was on the 10/11 team last year. This year, he is on the 11/12 team. This is his last year of LL. He is convinced that his time is going to the LL World Series. >>>

If they win district, then they go to State. This year it is in Pendleton, so it will be nice - just down the road. If they win state, then they go to regionals in CA somewhere. Then it's on to the World Series in PA. I'll be happy if they don't go beyond state. :-) Sounds like those kids in that article are getting the shaft. It's just an exhibition game and they won't get to advance, or even have the opportunity. Like one of the responders to the article said: IF YOU DON'T ALLOW YOUR KIDS TO EXPERIENCE FAILURE, YOU'RE SETTING THEM UP TO FAIL. Or something like that!
