Subject: Varmet, our little town only has 2,500 people in it but we have a nice arena. The GBR gals always complain about our dirt and we finally put sand in the arena. Every time we plow it the dang stuff gets deep and the horses really dig it up. The contractor complains that his stock might get hurt. We have started a 'no plow' policy. We only drag the arena with a harrow and our arena conditions have improved a lot. When we get rain the water just runs off and we can go on with our rodeo. The GBR gals have shut up (sort of) and the stock contractor is happier. We don't want any plows in our arena. We just want 1" of loose dirt and all the rest to be pretty well packed.
