Subject: ZD wrote, "After just one day I kinda like the old gal and may use her some myself." You talkin about the horse or the lady?..... oh bad me..... I can't wait until my vet comes. I can say, see what your high prices are doing to the horses of this country.
In reply to: ZD 's message, "If I remember right there are only 2 plants left in the US to kill horses. Both of them are within 75 miles of me. The 'word on the street' is that neither plant is killing anywhere near to capacity and both of them are scred to spend a dime to increase production. We are being over run with horses. They are everywhere. The drought, sky high grain prices and no hay at any price is making ordinary horse flesh a pretty bad investment. Spring is here now in the Heart of Texas and everything is getting green. If we have another dry summer and/or if hay prices stay high the exploded horse population will only get worse. I got another one yesterday. An old friend just needed one off her feed bill so I agreed to take her for my grand kids. After just one day I kinda like the old gal and may use her some myself. She's a pretty nice horse even though she's been a brood mare for years." on 13:05:10 03/15/07 Thu
