A PLEA ON BEHALF OF OUR RESCUE HORSES!

This winter was one of the worst on record in Colorado�s Front Range mountains, with snows starting in October 2006 and continuing through the end of March 2007. The price of hay has skyrocketed to $9.25 for a small bale of hay weighing less than 50 lbs. and prices are expected to continue to rise this summer. Our 16 horses still have the same needs regardless and we are facing grim decisions without additional donations from the public, not to mention bankruptcy.

- I heard this week that all slaughter for human consumption is now stopped. They are all going in dog and lion food. The guy that told me that they are paying $.12 per pound for live horses. I have found that horses are a poor investment except the ones you buy for grand kids. (NT) -- ZD, 14:03:33 03/31/07 Sat

    - I don't have a clue. I don't have anything but broom tail nags. I don't want a horse with a better pedigree than me. I have a long time pal that is a full time horse trader. I don't mind him making money when he finds me a horse. If he makes a thousand bucks on a horse he buys for $500.00, that's fine with me.
