Subject: Unnceccsary Roughness???....... or are you speaking of the "Jerk Down Rule" ? I really do not see the reason for the rule, when what I seen on the video, it looked like some of those calves did not weigh over 150 pounds. The ARA's are always complaining they use "baby calves", yet to put in the jerk down rule and use such small calves is kinda conteracting the rule altogether. Not sure who or why they would even use the rule unless they are just trying to please the ARA's. If they are doing that, then Alberta is going to be right behind British Columbia.
In reply to: Albertagirl 's message, "Calgary Stampede - Cody Ohl was there last year. I never heard the reasoning as to why he wasn't here this year. The uneccessary roughness rule DQ'd a lot of ropers over the 10 days. I talked to several contestants and they all loved the format, and the money. I hear there are even bigger changes in the works for next year." on 13:34:12 07/16/07 Mon

  • Yep, "uneccessary roughness" is an actual rule seperate from the jerk down rule. it was implemented by the cowboys up here after teh Clvoerdale debacle. Joe Beaver, Clint Robinson and I believe Al Bouchard all got waved out because of it in the semi-finals on Sunday. (NT) -- Albertagirl, 22:00:32 07/16/07 Mon
