I keep tellin' you folks that Texans love to be hated. It sets us apart. We are the only state that has the right do divide into several smaller states. We own our own coastal waters. We have the right to fly our flag at an equal height witht he US flag and our State Capitol is TALLER than the US Capitol. We refine more gasoline than all the states West of the Mississippi use. If you live in Orange, Texarkana, Amarilla or El Paso, you life closer to 4 other state capitols than you do your own. If you are in Texarkana you are only 50 miles further from Chicago than you are El Paso. The Big Thicket is one of the biggest swamps. The Permian Basin is one of the biggest deserts.
