Subject: Around here when they do that, all they're doing is drilling to different zones. It's common for a wellhead to have more than one casing the each casing produces from anywhere from the most shallow to the very deepest zones. Those zones will be under the same name but each zone will follow the well name. They are now drilling to new zones around here and finding untapped sources of gas.
In reply to: ZD Ranch 's message, "Actually, Varment, I have been told that they drilled 3 wells from one drill site and plan on 2 more without moving the rig. This is just South of Ft. Worth. These wells are for gas and they don't have to be straight. All of these wells have horizontal legs that penetrate the Barnett Shale and then they inject some sort of slick chemical and water and fracture the shale. That's what makes it give up it's gas. Then the gas just comes wooshing out of the ground. These wells are supposed to be long lived but slack off. Is it just fate that the well slacks off about the time the gas company gets out enough gas to pay for the well?" on 08:54:33 05/06/06 Sat
