Black's paws made small tracks in the snow as he trotted about his territory. The wind was up, he noted, and soon, the herds would be moving on. He'd have to get his pack up, get them moving. They had to follow. Already, the signs of a hard winter where showing. Thin bellys, dull coats, and short tempers. Twice this week he'd fought off another wolf, intent on taking HIS land. He snorted, and turned to face his alpha, Two-Tone. «the pack moves» she nodded her grey/brown muzzle, scenting the wind.
«rouse the others?» she asked, her two eyes, one blue, one brown, questions his, but always held the respect due to the alpha. He nodded, black head catching snow flakes in the breeze. «we move» Two-Tone turned and trotted downt he embankment to rouse the other pack members.

An hour later, the pack was headed safely after the moving herds, Black leading with Two-Tone bringing up the rear and makeing sure no one slacked. One-Eye, the beta, moved up to question Black. «we near humans?» Black lifted his head and sniffed, checking both winds. «we do. we need food» with out another word, One-Eye moved back into possition, his own mate, Silver-Paw, trotting along a pace behind him, as was her place. The rest of the pack, a measily number of 4, followed their alpha and beta pair, keeping a respectful pace so as not to upset the alpha's mate, Two-Tone.
