Nanashi stalks about the plains in the cover of darkness. Keen ears pick up and sounds of prey as sharp eyes scan the ground for the movement that would set off a chase. Stepping lightly he stops for a second and looks up to the cloudless sky as the light of the stars and the moon reflected in his eyes. He knew that he was part of something so much bigger than his territory and his pack, though he never knew and will never know what. It didn't bother him much for he didn't care to know. His figure, a moonlight silhouette, shown on the open plains. His head moved down once again sniffing untill he kicked up a rabbit. Giveing chase he soon caught it and snapped it's neck then took it back to the den where Black Paw was.

Black Paw lay in the den. The pups would be born soon. She looked out the mouth of the den at the snow which reflected the moonlight from outside. She layed her head upon paws untill Nanashi came into the den. he dropped a dead rabbit at her paws and she gulped it down fast. Food this size was still hard to find she knew for the snow had driven them into holes to sleep out the winter. But spring was comeing and she hoped that it would start to stir up the life about the plains. She licked Nanashi on the muzzle in thanks and drifted into a sleep.

Night Fire sat by the den. Drifting in and out of sleep awkening to take a drink or chew on a near by bone then falling back asleep. The star light shown on her coat as her form lay still slightly under the underbrush, sleeping once again.
