Deaf, more than half blind, and giving all his attention to the yummy clovers, Cooter didn't pick up on anybody approaching. When the shadow moved over him, adrenaline quak'd over his 14.3hh body and sped heartbeat to a noticable booming. The head jerk'd up (with a crack of the neck) and his shriv'led eyes grew large. Petrafied [1] for a moment (or less), the arthritic [2] bones made a series of cracking as taunt muscles and quivering pelt retreated away. Far away. Far away from that . . . creature.

After three miles or so of galloping, when his hooves were sore and bruised, summer-silken coat rough with lathered sweat, he slowed to an alert-prancing-state, attent'tive to all around him, thoughts still throbbing with fear. The question raised in his mind: what was that? The recalling of the scare made him quiver again, moving his head with jerky motions to every imaginary shadow. If those were the creatures that lived here, he wanted to go home.

The lonely thoughts on wanting some company were pushed far out of sight. He left the territory in an energy-draining state of fearful alertness, traveling the rest of the day in this manner.

OOC, awww!!! you meanie!! rofl in r/l he would prolly have a heart attack. :X poor baby.. *snuggles Cootwoot* He's not even afraid of anything. He's like bombproof, but, yeah, Aswad's not a bomb. lol that scared ME thinking about what he would do.
