Hi Everyone!

Here are some banners and buttons that I liked:

1. www.phillyzoo.org
I like the buttons that are used on the homepage. They are animal paw prints that make animal noises when you move the mouse over them. I am guessing that the animal noise matches the paw print. I also like the banner. It is simply the name, Philadelphia Zoo…with a lion that walks into the logo. The logo is layered on top of the homepage background. I guess the color harmony is nature—tans and black.

2. www.usmint.gov/kids
I also like the buttons on this page. The website is designed for children. The buttons are shaped like coins. Each coin is a different color—no real color scheme I guess.

3. www.coolhomepages.com/newstatic//Banners/8.html
I do not usually like movement in a banner, but this one is pretty simple. The banner has a green background with white moving words. The “click here” is in blue and appears after the movement stops. Greens and blues are analogous colors. The blue text stand out against the green background and white text.

4. http://www.ucalgary.ca/~dkbrown/readers.html
Although this website is currently unavailable, the banner is shown. There is simple black lettering and lines with an shield logo in red, yellow and white. The banner is against a white background. It looks simple and neat. Reds and yellows and blacks are based on nature.

5. www.dogsled.com/events/iditarod
This banner uses a sort-of slate blue image and text with an opaque yellow to white shading. The yellow and blue are complementary. The banner has a simple look. There is an image of a sled dog outlined in blue. I was wondering how that is done. The text is blue with a black shadowing that make the text look like it is raised of the background.

6. http://www.enc.org/weblinks/
This is an education website. It is dark blue with white and yellow lettering. The blue and yellow complement one another but are not exactly complimentary on a color wheel. The center of the banner is a photo with a feathered edge. The background of the photo is light blue, so it blends into the rest of the banner (analogous). Links to some of the basic informational pages on the site are in the banner and clear for viewers.
