Ya, read this on bbc news too!

My dad once said the launch of the PS2 was delayed by some governments (can't rememeber which, maybe the US) because the emotion engine is good enough to become a key component for precision ballistic weaponary when modified. (Good in rendering landscape)

They worried terrorist might get their hands on a PS2 and turn it into their own "entertainment" devices (i.e missiles!!)

But then it was all talks as money and revenue always come first... and really no point - a few years down the road and we have chips more powerful than the one in PS2 widely avaliable in the market.
