Cathay...tell me about your dutch oven.

I'm about to send my 4qt back to them to hopefully be replaced. The inside of mine is all black and the porcelain is worn away in some areas.

I just don't know if there's ever an opportune time to be caught without your 4qt dutch oven. How will I make my winter lentil soups?

Love,
Theo Greene

It's flame red (to match my grill pan) and I got it at the Le Creuset outlet in Gilroy, CA. It regularly sold for $368 and I got it for *drum beat* $189!! The only reason was it had a "ding" on the underside of the handle and a small ding on the lid which doesn't affect use or wear. It's 8 quarts and very heavy. I use it for making pot roast and simmering for long periods of time. I LOVE IT!!!

Most of my Le Creuset were won off ebay--i'm too poor to pay full price...or even outlet prices.

But I'm jealous that you have an 8 qt!!! in my favorite color.

I just made adult spaghettios tonight. The night before pea/barley/carrot soup. Before that Constance's File Gumbo from the Chrome Kitchen. Should I buy a really cheap 4 quart saucepan while they replace it for me? That could take a few weeks.

Love,
Theo
