Supination!!...I grew up in the sixties and that was the Word from the Man...even though he said all top players did it, it became associated with Hogan and his secret...so many people really (myself included) couldn't get that left hand supinated, but knowing that was the way to a delayed hit, decided to use the big leg drive to keep the wrist angle/late hit, a false release which is more of a dragging with hands ahead, achieved only with the strong grip...it wasn't till I've been SAing that the supination is there...all my life, my left hand knuckles have been on top at impact (kind of HSS)...the first few times I truly supinated (and truly released) it almost scared me...just knew the ball would go straight right but nope, just straight...you have to trust it, no flinching allowed...hp
