Caramon turns to face the questioner. "My brother..." He mutters quietly to himself before beginning his story in a voice tinged with bitterness, anguish, and hatred. "My brother, unlike me, always felt more at home in the woods. When the first reports of the ayer came, I moved to the cliff whil he remained in the forest, near the trees he loved so well. One evening, as I was returning from visiting him, I heard a loud crack from behind me, and then Silvanus began to cry for help. I hurried back as fast as I could, but I was too late, too late....I had left him sitting on a branch, watching the sun set. The branch had broken, spilling him to the forest floor. Other branches had slowed his fall, so he was still alive, albeit with several bruises, when the ayer found him. I managed to drive them off, as there were not so many; the sun had not fuly set, and it was not that dark yet. I carried my 12-year old brother back to the village. That was three years ago. He used to be the liveliest, most mischievieous child in the village; now, all he does is sit in dark corners or isolate himself at the top of a tree. Perhaps a bond-animal would cheer him up...Did you come for a bond? I am the Winshae here; did you want to bond an eagle?"
