The silence is heaviest
As the moon hangs above
Sending down haunting beams
of flashing white
They are all alone
Yet neither feels loneliness
A cold breeze blows
Into the room
Billowing the illuminated curtains
Even as they shiver
Naked skin is warm
Beating hearts making
The thin sheet rise
And fall with gentle breathing
Perfect trust in bonding
Limbs are entangled
Touching is beyond the physical
Fingers twined in hair
Feeling each other in totality
Cocooning and comforting
Neither pulls away
Not even for a kiss
Because this silence
This soothing moment
Is magic.
