Subject: Second Chances

This a really old story that I wanted to bring back. So here it goes.

~ D'Andre and Danyella started dating the end of their junior year and have been going out for almost a year. They are deeply in love and seem like the perfect couple. They were hooked up by their best friend Talia who is hell bent on making them stay together forever.~

~@ school~
D'Andre: Hey baby. Hi Talia. Wuz up wit cha?
Talia: Sup D? We chillin'.
Danyella: Yeah. Umm D can we meet someplace after school? I really need to talk to you.
D'Andre: Okay. I'll give you a ride home. Meet me at the car after 10th period. Now where's that beautiful smile of yours?
Danyella: ~smiling weakly~
D'Andre: There it is. Aight boo. See you later. ~kissing her and walking away~
Talia: Are you really going to break up with him?
Dany: Yes, I have to. I wouldn't be right if I didn't.
Talia: I hope you're doing the right thing.
Dany: Me too girl. Me too.

~after school in the car~
D'Andre: So what's so important that you have to talk to me about?
Dany: D'Andre I've got some bad news. You know I love you and I would never do anything to hurt you. ~starting to cry~
Andre: Yes. Calm down baby. Don't cry. What is it? Just tell me, please. ~getting worried~
Dany: I think we should break up. I'm going through some things right now and I don't want to see you get hurt.
Andre: Danyella, you could never hurt me. I love you girl. What's really going on? I don't understand.
Dany: D'Andre I can't explain. There are some things I need to sort out before I can be totally true to you. I just need some time to get some things together. ~still crying~
Andre: ~turning to look @ her and wipe her tears away~ If that's the way you want it I can respect that. ~looking hurt~ I'll take you home.

~They ride to Danyella's house.~
Dany: ~getting out of the car~ See you tomorrow?
Andre: Yeah, whateva. ~slamming the door and driving away.~
~Dany walks into the house, goes upstairs, and calls Talia~
MV: Hello.
Dany: Hey Chris. Is Talia home?
Chris: Wuz up Dany? Naw, Lia's not here. What's wrong?
Dany: I guess I can tell you. Dre and I broke up today.
Chris: Why?
Dany: I was feeling somebody else and I just needed some time to get him out of my head.
Chris: Oh. ~pause~ Well I know this isn't the time, but I know this guy that's really feeling you and I wanted to know can I give him your number?
Dany: Depends. Who is it?
Chris: Kentrell.
Dany: Kentrell? Umm, yeah he can have my number.
Chris: Aight good. I hope you cheer up. When Talia gets home I'll have her call you.
Dany: Okay thanx. Bye.
Chris: One.

~2 hours later Dany's phone rings~
Dany: Hello.
Talia: Hey chica.
Dany: Wuz up girl?
Talia: Nuthin. Was my brother bothering you earlier?
Dany: Naw. Actually he kinda did me a favor. Guess who likes me?
Lia: Who? Kentrell?
Dany: Yes! You know I been trying to get at him for a while now. And he's a junior in college too! Girl...
Lia: Yeah, yeah I know.
Dany: What's the matter?
Lia: I can't believe you broke up with Dre. How did he take it?
Dany: I don't know. He was okay when I first told him, but by the time we got to my house I could tell he was really hurt.
Lia: Well how can you be so happy? I'm not trying to take sides because both of you are my best friends, but...
Dany: But what?
Lia: But don't you feel horrible? Don't you feel anything? You just broke his heart. Thought you said you loved him.
Dany: I did love him and I still do. Lia you know me and you know why I had to let him go.
Lia: I'm not so sure I know anymore.
Dany: Lia! Please don't make this any harder on me.
Lia: Harder on you? How do you think Dre feels? How do you think I feel stuck between the two of you?
Dany: Lia don't. You know how bad I felt going with Andre and having feelings for Kentrell. I felt like I was just stringing Dre along and I didn't want to do that anymore. He deserves someone that is going to treat him right and right now that someone isn't me. Dre was the best thing that ever happened to me. He loved me the way that I needed, but I loved him enough to let him go if I couldn't give him me totally and committed.
Lia: Yeah whateva. Look I gotta go. Bye. ~hanging up~
Dany: Lia? Hello? Heelllooo? Damn!

~Dany starts crying when her phone rings~
Dany: Hello.
MV: May I speak to Danyella?
Dany: This is she. Who is this?
MV: Oh so you don't know me now?
Dany: Kentrell?
Kentrell: The one and only. What's wrong boo?
Dany: Nothing you just sound different over the phone.
Kentrell: Naw, I mean what's really wrong? Sound like you've been crying. What happened?
Dany: You know Dre and I broke up ~pausing~ and now Lia's mad at me and I don't know what to do. ~crying harder~
Kentrell: Calm down babygirl. You know everything's going to be aight. You got me now. Don't worry.
