Great Forum, Great thread

I've played the first 10 scenarios in the rulebook and lost 8 (against an experienced player). So I’m using the summer recess to learn and to have a better chance in the next series in the autumn (against an even more experienced player!).
I’ve played Alpha 0 solitaire once; the Russians have won (after DM German leader and 2 squads with their first salvo).
This thread is giving some interesting tactics and I will try (some of) them.

And now my question:

Is it correct that it is impossible to get at the end of the first turn of Alpha 0 a Russian squad (without leader) in N 5 (what has apparently happened in the game covered in the AAR on Scott Powers site)?
