This is for Squad Leader:
This information is in a section most of us only read once.
Range and penetration of AFV MGs is listed in rule 28.4.

This is an error with the rules/counters. The 50cal MG is
the 8-20 HMG of the US a Russian forces, also the M-16 had
four of these in a quad mount (but you wouldn't know that
by looking at the counter).

>What am I missing? Is there a chart or something I've

Hope this helps?

At the COI level, rules for AFV-mounted MGs changes
considerably.

At the SL level you can have a "covered arc" MG and an
"AA" MG. At the COI level you can have four main
different types: bow or "covered arc" MG, turret
or "coaxial" MG, the same "AA" MG, and in some cases
a "turret rear" MG. And ranges change, too. Most COI
info is in rules 64.4~64.48.
