Not correct. There are two DR in the example: one is to
determine whether a hit was obtained. That's the "7" which
hits the infantry, but not the gun.

The second roll is a "4". That becomes a 7 against the
squad and a 9 against the crew. The squad eats a 1MC but
the crew is not affected.

The addition of the squad allows the tank to fire at the
infantry.

48.2 & 63.5 Could a crew manning a gun be fired on
individually from the gun with HE-rounds ?, and if Yes
would the +2 DRM apply ?
A. You must shoot at the gun - not at the crew. No. {KM}

If there is another infantry unit in the same hex, it
becomes a legitimate target and can be fired on. Ergo:
don't stack infantry with your guns, you make the latter
more vulnerable, or at least their crews.
