Re: Can't wait 4 the weekend.... -- JB, 14:18:55 03/04/02 Mon
I think the fact that your team although patched up cost in excess of 90m ( Folwer alone being 11m ) says it all. The fact that your strikers couldn't beat a central defence that cost 250k speaks volumes for me. Quite how the referee allowed Alan Smith to remain on the pitch or Batty for that matter is a mystery. Despite being an Evertonian I would also have sent off Radzinski for two blatant dives. I think neither of the managers involved on the day were watching the same game as the supporters. Neither of them made the substitutions when they should - O'Leary not dropping Viduka for the quick footed Robbie Keane BIG mistake. Walter Smith not dropping the ineffective Scot Gemill at half time and Blomqvist at half time and bringing on Gravesen/Ginola when the game was there for the winning BIG mistake. To be honest the game was there for the winning from the first whistle. As I said the worst Leeds team I have witnessed at Goodison for many a year. As for not travelling to Elland road, I'm not crazy enough to mix with you lot of nutters. I thought your own fans were going to string Peter Ridsdale up after the final whistle!

Re: Can't wait 4 the weekend.... -- Phil, 15:41:39 03/04/02 Mon
Couldn't read this without chipping in my two penneth, really.
Sadly, it came as no great surprise that we failed to beat 10 men, having witnessed the abject perforamce at home against 9 man Spurs earlier in the season. Walter 'wait till the death' Smith gives Ginola and Gravesen only 10 minutes to have a go when they should have been on at half time as JB correctly says.
Why Smith is being allowed to take us down is a mystery to me - How many other managers would still have a job after only three league wins in the last four months? A 'good point' here and there won't save us this year.
