Subject: Stats from the tourney

The tourney was good. The ground was wet, and a cold breeze blew. Our fingers were numb, but we had fun. Amy sold some cookies, but spent most of the time keeping warm. No comment. Ashan'darei (Curt) took part in the newby tournament, and made it to the third round. He also took command of the newby unit in the four man team, that had a fast and brave demise. I think he was in the unlimited too, but i can't remember. I took kublan's leg in the red weapon, and brother henry's in the sword and board. Leg Collection! A four man team of me, Brit, hanover, and and another gestiguiste made it to second round. I got to the semi-finals in archery and green weapon, and was the last green weapon fighter with a knife. I love that knife. It's magikal. But Borikan switched his spear for a knife, and got me. In the unlimited, i came against him again, and legged him. He hit my sword arm, and legged me with a javelin. Then we had a simultaneous kill, and started again, without javelins. He whacked me. I got Khan in the archery tourney, after losing my arrows from my quiver. Lousy head-heavy things. I was against Barloff, with his new-fangled, wind-proof arrows, and my arrows fell out again. He got my leg, and then shot at point-blank range.
So, according to Norse-matic, if I lost to him, and he lost to Greymael, I came in third. And I lost to Borikan, who beat somebody else, so I came in third in green weapons. But, overall, I came in with the highest knife/bow score. For any interested, the Finns, Swedes, and some Celts fought mainly with bows and knives. The old blood runs strong in me. Enough bragging, you guys missed out. I can only assume that Tom's saying that I cannot take the cold was a joke, since he wasn't there, in garb. He can only stand it in thick clothing, and natural insulation, sheltered from the wind, in a thick bag.
