There were so many talented new comers this year that I hope will continue to compete. Who do you think will definitely NOT compete? There was a whole lot of talent on the stage this year. Don't lose heart girls! Many of our winners competed 2-3 times before winning! I am excited for the new season to start!

Hi everyone! Today, I want to tell you all what exciting things I’ve been up to this! First of all, thank you to everyone for all of the sweet texts, cards, emails and flowers! Krisna & Jim Goodwin sent me a beautiful vase of flowers. That was so thoughtful of you two. Thank you so much! It has been heart-warming to receive so many well wishes. I appreciate everyone’s support more than you will ever know!

On Sunday morning after the pageant, I finally did get a few hours of sleep! My first press conference was at the Doubletree Hotel early Sunday morning. My parents and I met with Mr. Hensley, Mr. Exum, Mrs Jane, Allison DeMarcus and Chris Chambers to go over a TON of information, expectations, contracts and details for the coming year. After that, I was able to have lunch with my family at Longhorn Steakhouse. The manager was kind enough to treat us to our lunch, which was much appreciated!

On Monday, I had my official Miss Tennessee Portrait made at Moore Studio by the FABULOUS and ever-so-talented Darren Lykes. Darren is an incredible photographer! Mrs Jane was my hair stylist for the day, and can I just say, this lady can do anything! She did a great job! We did the official shot inside, which is the picture that will hang in the infamous Miss Tennessee room where I will be the 57th Miss Tennessee on the wall. I get chills just thinking about it! We then went outside to take more pictures. It was a gorgeous day with a perfect breeze to keep us cool. That night, we went back to the studio to choose our favorites. Darren is not only talented, but a lot of fun!

On Tuesday, I had an early nail appointment with Brandy Woods of Allure Salon in Jackson. She is the official Miss Tennessee Manicurist and did a great job on my nails! We had a blast chatting and getting to know each other. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing a lot of her. It certainly is fun to get pampered! I definitely was in need of a pedicure after wearing high heels everyday! Thank goodness she can give a “mean” pedi! Thank you, Brandy!

After my manicure and pedicure, it was off to Newstalk Radio 101 to do a live interview with Dan Reeves. I had a blast and everyone was so nice! We had some great calls come in with questions for me to answer. Thank you to those that called in. I even got to wish Dan’s niece, Hannah, Happy 5th Birthday!

Tuesday, I spoke and sang that National Anthem at the Jackson Exchange Club. This was a special appearance for me since just last week, I had attended the Exchange Club luncheon with my fellow Miss Tennessee contestants. I was invited to be an honorary member for a year and they also gave me a beautiful Pandora bracelet with a crown charm attached. I can’t wait to add to it throughout the year! Thank you to Chris Ramsey and everyone at the Exchange Club for making me feel so welcome!

One of the highlights of my week was making a trip to Union City to see everyone at Joann’s! Mrs Jane and I hopped in the car…she drove as I did a few phone interviews with some radio and news stations in Chattanooga. Paige and Jared were a blast, as always, and they gave me some beautiful dresses to wear for different appearances over the next few weeks. The Miss Tennessee Pageant is extremely fortunate to have Joann’s as the official wardrobe sponsor. Paige is a dear friend of mine and she truly cares about every girl she dresses. See Paige for all of your pageant needs! She will make you look and feel like a Princess, no doubt!

TN has the best top 5 so far this year. Love your winner. Good int, talent, really worked ss.
1RU, only age stood between her and the crown.
2RU, classy, beautiful, thought she would take it. Hopefully, someone can convince her to return.
3RU Again, classy, personable, very attractive.
4RU Prettiest of the final 5, needs just a little polish. Hope she can come back.
My state would have loved any one of these 5 for the win.

We can go on and on about why this girl didn't win, and why that contestant didn't place, and the fact is, they never will live up to their full potential competing in TN. It's a fact, that a handful of those girls, and some that didn't even break top 15, could have walked off that stage and onto the stage of another state pageant and won. I think some of these serious competitors who see that year after year, they're not getting anywhere at Miss TN should seriously consider competing in another state.

just my thoughts

waddell - I actually thought she was better then last year in talent. I think the flu took it's toll and from a contestant heard it was pretty severe. She will be missed but better things await. would have been a great TN

wittler - I thought she was better two years ago. did not have her placing. However, I do think she'll do a good job.

wages - did a great job but, I thought with Lawson's interview, sw and ew she'd top her. I did not have her placing. cute girl, great talent, needs toning and maturity

hockett - one of my favs she rose to the top too fast in the week and leveled off by top 10. kinda deflated by top 5. I so thought this might be her year. I still had her in top 3. would have made a great Miss TN

green - the most consistent I've seen her. lots of buzz about how she'd changed and no longer looked teen. would have made a great Miss TN I had her placing. wish she'd try another year. she'll be missed as well. classy presence

powell - not as strong as last year and I was surprised she made top 10 considering how she started the year - second chances are nice - hope she continues in persent mindset

schwab - although a sweetie and one of my favs - she was not on top of her game. i had her fourth in talent on fri. top 10 but not placing on my card

ritter - very surprising to me. so much protential I hope she continues - I thought talent was between her and green their night. she'll do well where ever she goes

lawson - another fav I HAD her as our 18/19 year old for top 10 and placing this year - with her interview, sw and ew I figured she'd make up for weak talent. lots of potential - hope to see her again this year

reigle - gorgeous and great bod but talent and maybe interview kept her out of top 10

farr - top 15 but was surprised at 10. but then I did not have her as the talent winner that night. a contestant i talked with seemed to think she was nice and sincere

collins - top 15 a little surprising but not too much. afterall she's a great girl and very likable. just imagine if someone serious had gotten a hold of her. she'll be miss as she's such a sweetie

nixon - total attitude turnaround according to some titleholders. what a difference a year makes eh? top 15 but 10 could be a toss up for me

stahl - so much potential yet she played the state attitude card - don't know why. a little over the top in all events. calm down and don't work so hard at standing out and then you actually will. top 15 not a surprise

moynihan - should have stuck with what worked last year but performing from the heart is also important - just find the balance - hope she comes back

waddell - although sick sh was consitent - deserved top 10 and would have made a great Miss TN. I think her past pushed her into top 5 this time though

wittler - much improvement and a real spark - ha
d no problems in her winning - just though she waw not well rounded as some others

wages - young and full of potential and top 10 waw a given but I would not have placed her as she was not well rounded enough and could not do the job. would hcw placed Lawson as the young girl requirement

hockett - while not as stong in some areas as other I believe she has workied so hard and had her down to final two - she will be missed

green - brought her A game. Best she's ever looked and sang, I would have placed her She would have made a great Miss TN. Not sure TN could accept her strong convictions. Her classy presence will ber missed.

powell - cleaned up her 1ct - top 15 waw a given, shocked at 10, figurd her past would haunt her

schwab - not at her best but still a top 10. I would have given her top five to Lawson or Green - they'd have anwerred those OSQ

ritter - pleasant surprise. she could go far with strong board

lawson - best total package fromyung girls - t

reigle - no surprises - great bod and fave =
collins mp [prolems0jyear - top 15
nixon = lots to wori on - workout

I was so pleased to be sitting in the civic center Saturday night when a girl was chosen simply because the judges liked her best and not because her Dad made a donation to the scholarship fund and had an inside deal with Tom Hensley ensuring her daughter win. I was pulling for another girl personally, but this somewhat restored my faith in the system after what we all witnessed last year. Best of luck to you Stefanie! You TRULY deserve this title and can say you won it on your own merit. Way to go Tennessee!!
