A Special Afternoon

Noticed him fishing
Was during my break
Took the scenic walk
Down by the lake

Glancing eye to eye
We made connection
With sparkling views
From lake reflection

I had been reading
So closed my book
He gave me a grin
While baiting a hook

Having sat nearby
In watching him cast
Hey care to join me
He had said at last

In patting the grass
The fun had started
Enjoying outdoors
Banter lighthearted

A special afternoon
The fish were biting
We also discovered
Our love of writing
