Actually, my data/insight was spawned back in 1994 when the Titans won the MCC tourney and didn't get an auto NCAA or NIT bid. Then again, in 1996, when we lost to N. Ill. in the tourney finals, I felt that we had a strong enough RPI to get an NIT bid but were left home. So basically I have "watched" NIT selections since 1994 with an eye towards figuring out their madness/method. Now, after accumulating, saving, and storing several years worth of NIT selection data, the analysis and predictions are much easier.
