 Weathered Nomad made way gradually ’cross terrain, cranium held nonchalantly despite grizzled weather. Strands assaulted carcass violently, quarter-moon casting shadows ‘pon unusually slim trellis. Titaniums scraped ‘gainst frosted earth, regurgitating what had once been roots of flourishing foliage. After an instant, movement ceased, excluding the vicious brandishing of lengthy burr-tangled mass ‘cross rotting tapestry...Frame seemed to hold together by coincidental chance, bones protruding ‘neath lusterless pelt, bodice mutely screaming excessive malnutrition... Beautiful this Minx was not.. Spikes never moved from buried local beneath nappy mass of once golden string, now a putrid dull caramel tint; optics of uncertain hue glanced blankly about from gauntly interred sockets, as if bored with surroundings. Skull ascended, tattered lapels inhaling scents of various apparitions inhabiting the realm.. Pate of Poltergeist was hideously disfigured--a deep gash beginning at rightward radii, crossing features to the opposite side, and ending at left nostril. A pasty ooze dribbled and dripped off tattered mug, which was now pulled back into cardiovascular arena... Chapped labrums peeled apart as smothered cry pushed past through cracked barriers--the frequency a low grating hiss.. |
