Subject: THe Hunter

Under the pale moonlight lies a dark forest. Snowtipped trees glisten in the night. The calm serenity of the area only masks the true feeling of the night air. Even the animals of the forest can sense that something unnatural is amidst them and they stay within the comfort of their homes, away from whatever it is that is causing this disturbance.
A large buck, very easily the strongest and bravest of all in the forest, trods across the snow covered ground. His rack consists of twelve points, all covered with a small amount of snow. The animal shakes the snow away and continues to wherever he is going. The dark recesses of the forest surround his every direction. The deer lowers its head and licks the snow. Suddenly, the deer stops.
It raises its head up and stands still. It looks around and a faint growl can be heard. Not wanting to see what caused the noise, the deer immediatly breaks into a running sprint, weaving through the trees. Amidst the darkness of the trees, a shadowy being runs at breakneck speed. Growling sounds can be heard.
The deer looks back and gallops faster, kicking up a storm of white powdery snow behind it. The mysterious creature weaves through the trees as if the entire area had been mapped into his head with years and years of practicing this exact event. The buck keeps steadily ahead of its persuer, looking back constantly, confirming its reasons of desire to go faster. It puts up a good race but it isn't enough.
The deer goes down, quick and hard. Before it even has time to slow down its antlers are ripped from atop its head and are used to slice into it, a large stream of blood gushes out.
Finally the camera gets a good view of exactly what has happened. The deer had been taken down by not beast, but man. Although at this point, the word beast would be more acceptable.
White Wolf kneels beside the deer wearing nothing but a pair of dark paints and a black unzipped jacket. His muscular physique covered with the blood of his kill. He plungs an arm into the deer, still alive and struggling to get up, and rips out its heart, still beating. With the attitude of one deprived of food for years he tears into the heart with his teeth as the deer goes down, this time for good. Wolf quickly finishes the heart then looks up, yellow glowing eyes as disturbing as ever. He licks the blood from his lips with an almost ecstatic look.
Licking his lips he looks back at the camera, parts of his feast are still evident as he speaks with a gruff and powerful, yet calm as well, voice.
"The kill, quick and deadly. Done by what was around to use. Kind of an impromptu slaughter in a way. That's the kind of skills needed to survive in my world. Be ready to slay with whatever you have been given. The hunter hunts for what? The pride of taking the animal down, or survival? Does he desire the flesh or the trophy? These questions have no meaning once I step into the ring because their are one in the same. My trophy is the feeling of taking somebody down. Victory means little if the outcome has been reached with little discomfort to the other. I am here to hunt, like the beast of my namesake, and hunt I shall. I hunt for the fear and torment within us all, I seek to let it all out. My kills are whenever the opposition has been tortured beyond help, becoming merely shadows of their former selves.

He looks down, reaches into the deer with both arms and in an amazing display of strenghth pries the chest cavity open, breaking bone and tearing flesh in the process.

"We all have to survive, do we not. Unfortunately, in order to do so, others must be destroyed. So goes the great balance of nature. Most animals in the world know their role. This deer for instance, he knew that he was one to be hunted. And a lion lives without fear of being stalked for it knows that it is the stalker."

He looks back up at the camera and shakes off some excess blood and guts from his hands then wipes the hair away from his face, streaks of blood show up in his hair when he moves his hands away.

"However one species that doesn't seem to get it is humans. For over two millenia they have ruled this world with an iron fist. They were the kings and queens of the earth. They were the ultimate predators, but now, they are just another link in the food chain. The arrival of the vampyre ages ago was a glimpse that the humans run as lords of this land would not last forever. Unfortunately they too still can't seem to let go of the fact that they ain't at the top o' the heap anymore. But give it time. Nature has a way of working things out."

He grabs the deer by head and gazes into its eyes. They sun is slowly rising as a circle of scavengers fly overhead.

"You have served your purpose well."

He drops the buck's head and walks away.

"Beware, for the end of one, is merely the beginning of another."

The birds swoop down from the sky and begin their feast upon the dead carcass.
White Wolf trudges through the snow, never making a sound, save for the deer, the imprints of his boots in the snow are the only clue he leaves that he was ever here.

"The EWW will see a new beginning, my beginning. And just like the end of one, is the beginning of another, the same applies vice versa.
The end of nearly the entire roster is iminent.
They thought they could destroy me, I can't be destroyed. No matter how much you hurt me, I will always come back for more. The hunger for pain, to satiate the beast inside, grows like a cancer. I will answer its call, I will sastify my lust for bloodshed.
The near future will be my proving grounds, I will prove to the world once and for all, that I am the future of evolution. I am the here and now, and that everything else, everything you know about life, is yesterday's news.
Stone Cold, Prodigy, Shadow, all of you, and the countless others who I didn't mention, are all nothing more than wounded prey for this wolf. Be prepared to be lifeless in the cold, just like the birds' meal back there."

The camera turns slightly and focuses in on the carcass. When it returns, White Wolf is nowhere in sight, not a single footprint showing which way he left.
