Author: Lana [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 17:28:19 02/27/03 Thu I was walking down the hallway early Saturday morning when I heard Stephen come slam the door. "Honey what's wrong!" I cried as I walked down towards him. "Fire, Fire!" he yelled. Oh my gosh! At the barn! We only have 3 horses, but It was still bad. I ran down to the barn and ran into the tackroom choking on the smoke. I grabbed Magic and Miss Demeanor's halters. I ran down the aisle and threw open Magic's door. I put on the terrified horse's halter and led her out of the barn. I gave her to Stephen who took her and let her out to a paddock. Next was Missy. I grabbed her and I led her down the aisle. The mare balcked as I tried to get her out. She wouldn't budge so I unclipped her leadrope and slapped her on the rump. The mare bolted out of the barn where Stephen was trying to catch her. Our property was fenced in so I wasn't worried about her getting out. I ran back into the barn and grabbed Volair's halter. I ran down to his stall and saw the stallion laying down barely breathing.
