Hi Beth,

It just occurred to me to add my support for the suggestion of adoption, too. It is a very viable third choice, and is a win/win situation in so many cases. Here there is no need for a woman to carry around the guilt of having killed an innocent human life growing in her, and yet she is not required to enter motherhood, either, if she is not up for it at this time. And the joyful addition that that a couple that has been longing for the gift of a child to love and nurture but haven't been able to have one, is now given a priceless gift.

I have a soft spot for this option because my husband was adopted, and he is a wonderful, wonderful husband and father. His birthmother was 15 when she got pregnant, and the 'ideal candidate' for an abortion - very into a self-destructive life style that lasted for over a decade after she lovingly placed Steve, my husband, for adoption. She almost aborted him, but God changed her mind at the last minute and now he is here.

Whatever you decide, take your time to weigh your options and don't believe the strong pressure that abortion is the only way out. There is no 'easy' solution to an unplanned pregnancy (including abortion!) but there are solutions that respect the dignity of all and offer hope and joy in the end rather than death or loss.

We're rooting for you!

With Kindness,

Heather
