Hello and welcome to our boards! We're so glad you found us and are reaching out for help. :) I know you are probably overwhelmed with what to do right now. As far as getting help, we can assist you in finding a local crisis pregnancy center in your area. They can help you with all sorts of things, and offer wonderful advice as well. We just need your state and closest city. We will then provide you with a list of centers in your area. Please let us know what your specific needs are, so we can better help! You are not alone, Amber! You have found a safe, supportive bunch of women.

Now, as far as telling your parents...this is never easy. You have to remember this will be shocking to them as much as it is to you if not even more. Be prepared for them to be upset, angry, and scared. There are several ways you can tell them. Some girls write a letter. That way it allows the parents to read, react, and think before approaching you. If you decide to tell them face to face, I suggest you bring a trusted family member...someone to help keep things focused and as calm as possible. Please feel free to let us know how you decide to tell them beforehand. We can help you present the situation. No matter what though, have a plan. They're going to ask you a ton of questions, so try and be prepared. For example, how are you going to finish school? And, how are you going to provide for the baby? Try and prepare their answers to their questions in your head ahead of time. If you come in just saying you have no clue, they will probably react more harshly. No matter what, have a plan!

Amber,

I want you to know that you are totally not alone. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling right now. Because I was where are you are now not quite eight months ago. A little bit about me, is that I got pregnant when I was 15 had my baby when I was 16 (actually had her on Saturday) and a little bit early. I was scared to tell my parents for the fear that they would disown me or something like that. I am currently a single teenage mom, I am legally an adult and I am NOT going to prove the statistics right.

You have found a great place to get the support you need. I truly don't think that I would be where I am today if I hadn't of found voy. They have helped me so much. If you ever want/need to talk I am ALWAYS just an email away. Come to me with any problem or question. Remember, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You can totally do this and also remember that you have choices. So don't let someone push you into doing something you don't want to do. I'll be praying for you! Please come and update us, even the little things that you think don't matter...Because we care!
