Hi Nikki!

Good to hear an update. I thought/think Kaydence is such a beautiful name for your little one. It's nice when they sleep through the night! You're doing pretty well if she's doing that at 3 mos.

I felt the same about getting the shots for mine, too. I declined all the non standard ones (they have newer ones out for chicken pox, strep throat and hepatitis b) and we wavered on our decision to have even the standard ones done as our son was a preemie and I just felt so bad about having to put him through that, lol. They all seem just fine now, though, and we did have a round of pertussis crop up where we live because many parents have chosen not to vaccinate in this area against that so I was glad that we did.

3 mos is a great age - they start noticing you a lot more! 6mos is even better in my opinion - that's always been one of my favorite ages.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the rockiness with Paul. It's hard to get to fallible human beings together to share the deepest journey in life on a human level and not have some challenging adjustments along the way. I empathize; I've been there and know what a toll it takes. For what it's worth, be kind. It takes very little once you have it in your mind to be so and the returns are surprising.

Heather

It's good to hear from you.

Kaydence is right about on schedule to sleep through the night. It's not uncommon for babies to start sleeping through the night at about 11 lbs. although that is certainly no hard and fast rule as many parents can attest. Some never do it well. But the average is about 11 lbs. Hopefully you'll adjust soon and start sleeping through. That will help, huh? :)

I remember when mine were that age just being amazed at how much they had grown.

As for the shots, you are probably fairly normal there. We don't want to feel we are causing our little ones pain, so shots are tough!

I'm glad to hear that you and Paul are getting along at present. I imagine you have a lot of things to work through. Do the two of you have any long term plans, or are you just taking it one day at a time?

Anyway, it sounds like things are going well over all, so that is good to hear. :)

Take care,
Melanie
