Subject: Stifle injury

I have had my Appendix QH for 3 1/2 years. He is gray, 15.3 hands and is 13 years old. I show in a hunter division around 3' 6" to 4' 0". He is a great little hunter and has had no previous injuries with me. At my last show he jumped all the jumps in two portions, the front then a hesitation with the back. The vet says that his hind muscles are soar for having to make up for not puting pressure on his stifle. I am trying to find out more about this injury and if you have any comments, information, or prior experience with this please post a message.
~Thanx~
