Subject: PENLAS PICNIC TROPICAL PARK

I arrived at 2:30 PM. I could not go any earlier than that, so I do not know
if any of my anti Penelas Brethren showed up. I was also at the Homestead
BBQ yesterday. Today, I took my Mom with me and my goal was to make myself
visible to him, so he knows we are not letting up on this very crucial and
important issue. (He knows full well I am not "supporting" him) as we walked
around the park mingling with the crowd it was crystal clear that his agenda
is to represent the Cuban Community, I saw about 12 school buses each one
had provided transportation for people in different areas to come to the
picnic, now I must ask did anyone in South Dade, Goulds or South Miami get
an offer to attend this free event? is he dismissing our vote as if it has
no importance to him, could it be that he thinks we do not vote and the only
vote that counts is the Cuban vote? I saw Cuban Flags up the wazoo there,
t-shirts with Cuban Flags and save Elian shirts. I also saw Miriam Alonso,
(he was happily posing for a picture with her)not too long ago,she was on
Radio Mambi and WQBA claiming to be CUBAN AND PROUD! Telling the Cuban
listeners that they have NOTHING to apologize for! and we also know full
well her infamous statement, seeking to silence anti-embargo protesters in
1993,highlighted in Mullins article in the New Times. Also in attendance was
Ninoshka Millan another commissioner with nothing nice to say on live Cuban
Radio about American people, she also stated last week on Radio that she is
a Cuban woman and will not apologize for anything, she said they have a
right to act the way they do because they are in exile, and we are
immigrants and THAT is the difference. This is the very thing we brought up
with Penelas in the past meeting, he is condoning the anti-American tactics
and divisive sentiments these people have by his silence and inviting them
to this event. I understand that we all have busy lives and can not show up
to support the fight to regain our American Freedom being taken away. Just
know that as long as you register to vote and take a stand in the REAL BIG
RALLIES coming up in July. We will be heard. I do this for my children (I
have 6 Brady bunch style :) and their future we can not let this type of
abuse continue in silence. Thank you.
