i just finished Dead Babies, by martin amis, --good book, but Time's Arrow has to be his best i think. He has tons of really great moments in his novels, but they never seem to synthesize into something better than pretty good on a whole. in other words, they're fun to read, but when you're done you kind of feel deflated or something.
