A sense of going-in-circles looms over him, maybe not complete circles, but certainly not a straight line. No bother! Cooter steps into the fast-flowing stream and drinks, avoiding the slimy algae and crawling things at the bottom. He helps himself to some wild strawberries along the bank, followed by clover and clover-flower. After that he continues his trek, for about ten minutes. Large clusters of wild onion, summer grass, and that dark-thick stuff demanded (yes, demanded) him to stop for pre-lunch/post-breakfast. No worries today!

He spent his night in this territory, happily cuddled in overgrown weeds (of the delicious sort) and dreaming of nothing but floating cornstalks. Four dreams after midnight, though still very much the middle of night, he rose to his feet and headed merrily onto Thundaiyil.

The moon did a poor job of highlighting the delicious things to eat, so his pase was fast. Sometimes he jogged, remembering old meaningless treks with leather ropes and nagging humans, frustrating him and making him want nothing but the shade of his oak tree and the company of his Lucky, though forbidding him to go fast. His temper rose and he performed annoying dressage movements as piaffe and passage, draining much energy and covering little ground.

He also remembered his sheer suprize at learning horses did this on command and became famous for it. Again, no bother, for now he could choose his own pace, his own direction, and his own friends. Well, no friends yet, but he was searching.

He left claims on this Tanuja, with exitment, for this was his favorite terrain so far. Now he neared the border of Thundaiyil, with no passionate thoughts to darken his shoulders.
