Subject: Isaiah 55:11 Meditating on the Word (Revised)

Isaiah 55:11 Meditating on the Word

Isaiah 55:11 so shall My Word be that goes out from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, but It shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent It.

This verse promises that Scripture succeeds in a purpose that the Scripture is sent to accomplish. Therefore by faith a saint should fully receive Scripture that is sent to him or her as being sent to succeed in a certain purpose. Meditating on Scripture that promises beneficial results is an activity that should be paired firmly and directly with Isaiah 55:11 so that meditating on helpful Scripture is an activity that is characterized by expectation that a purpose will be accomplished, since Isaiah 55:11 tell us that that is what Scripture is exactly sent to do.

There are various ways to meditate. Looking around on youtube for a certain form or approach will probably be better than me trying to give any directions when youtube.com probably has many examples for a person to try out (books and internet written articles also might give directions on the form and approach to meditating). The youtube videos that say they are Christian forms of meditation probably are the best ones to look at. I know having a certain place with a certain level of comfort usually is important for effective meditating. I also know having the best time carved out to meditate might not be always possible. So with time and place a person has to judge whether starting and persevering in "not so great" circumstances is what has to be done rather than aiming for "the best" situation for meditation.

These are the verses that seem to have important value for connecting with Isaiah 55:11 in regular meditation. It would probably be best to sort of memorize these more and more and not read them when meditating - just recall from memory without straining. You might have to start with a few that are easy to recall and gradually add others at a reasonable pace over several weeks until most of these verses can easily come to mind when in meditation:

Romans 8:37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, Who loved us.

Psalms 94:19 When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

Matthew 7:7,8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you, For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

John 10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

John 7:37,38 On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Isaiah 26:3,4 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal.

Luke 10:7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

1 Timothy 5:18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One Who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Nehemiah 8:10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 15:15 For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.

Proverbs 11:24 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Proverbs 29:25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.

Psalms 119:130 The entrance of Your Words gives light; It gives understanding unto the simple.

Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who seek Him.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
