As strong as iron

(edited)

...The prophet would face intense pressure when he delivered unwelcome messages to Israel, so God promised to make him "an iron pillar and a bronze wall" (Jeremiah 1:18). The prophet wouldn't be flattened, dismantled, or overwhelmed. His words would stand strong because of God's presence and rescuing power.

Throughout his life, Jeremiah was falsely accused, arrested, tried, beaten, imprisoned, and tossed into a well - and yet he survived. Jeremiah also persisted despite the weight of inner struggles. Doubt and grief plagued him. Constant rejection and the dread of a Babylonian invasion added to his mental stress.

God continually helped Jeremiah so that his spirit and testimony weren't shattered. When we feel like giving up on the mission He's given us, or backing away from living faith-filled lives, we can remember that Jeremiah's God is our God. He can make us as strong as iron because His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Well, the fact is that the Lord's ways are often beyond our ability to understand. We won't be able to comprehend what He's doing in the world and in our lives, but I want to assure you of this; We can trust the One Who holds us in His mighty hand, in small things as well as big ones.

God's will is sometimes inconvenient.....

We tend to think that God is only interested in big, important events in our lives, but in reality, His will is lived out one little act of obedience at a time. The Holy Spirit's promptings don't always come when we're will rested and eager to obey. He may ask you to help someone in need when it's uncomfortable for you....

There may be times when the Lord's will seems unreasonable....

....Throughout my years of ministry, I've watched the Lord sovereignly direct my path in some of the most unexpected ways. It often seems illogical to me, but every time I obeyed Him, He brought me exactly where I needed to be and equipped me to accomplish what He'd planned.

...As you add greater acts of obedience to your smaller ones, you'll gain deeper love for your Heavenly Father, Who cares so much for you. And you'll begin to look forward to the next step on the path He sets before you. God's will reaches far beyond your human plans and expectations. Following it will be one of the many great blessings of belonging to Him.

Rabbi Kirt Schneider

(summarized portions of the video)

Whatever it is that you're feeling, you can talk to God about it. You can call out to Him for mercy and ask Him for help. The only way to get whole and to get healed is to let the Lord meet you right where you are at.

You have to come to Him transparently right where you are at. If you are struggling in sin, you cry out to God in the midst of your sin. You talk to Him about it and He enters in to that place of need as you connect to Him in your place of need. It only happens when you are being open and transparent.

God's power is perfected in our weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9). You connect to God in your challenge. Even having faith (authentic prayer begins with faith) that the challenge that you have can actually be turned into a gift to you from God. Man's problems are God's opportunities. Rather than looking at your challenge as something that's like a terrible thing, instead embrace it, thank God for it, because as you connect with the Lord and depend on Him in the midst of your challenge, you'll be strengthened because His power will be perfected in your weakness, you'll eventually overcome it. There will be like a fusion that will have taken place in your soul as you depended on God as you walk through that trial.

Real prayer takes place when you simply talk to God, sharing everything with Him - not just when you're in some sort of religious church mode. Pray ceaselessly (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly - whether it's sin, pride, sexual temptation, some foul attitude, etc. He wants to fuse Himself with you in the valley - that's where the strength is forged.
