What is it, Sauth? Kyssandra asked, though she felt she already knew the answer.
Z'yith and Aosuth...they were timing it! For us! And we couldn't even see them because our Weyrlingmaster just piddled around, Sauth bellowed angrily.
What?! Kyssandra thought back, face tinged with anger. Why that man, he could have died! He was timing it for so long... she murmured. And us Renegades haven't done a thing to help him. I should've known that something was up when he said that everything was fine. We have to do some-
Sauth flicked her head. We are doing something. I am. We're going to resc- Kyssandra shook her head. Don't think men prefer that term, dear. Sauth continued. Help him! Sauth added, reinforcing this thought with a trumpet. "Screw weyrling training, Sauth, you're going to learn to fly right here and now so we have a way to get to Z'yith." Firestoning is too difficult, and so is ::betweening::. Sauth snorted here. I wouldn't want to chew firestone just yet. I wanna have a clutch someday and upset all the Weyrleaders. Kyssandra sighed, she'd deal with the difficulties of that later. You can fly? Sauth rolled her eyes. Of course. Just watch, she said, running forward and flapping her wings, soon becoming airborne. See! I may not be able to do it for long, but I can get us to HerderHall. We'd better go alone, though. I certainly can't carry two, Sauth mentioned. Alright. We'll tell them where we're going...they need to trust us. They treat us differently...just because we're riders. "We're going to help Z'yith and Aosuth. They've been timing it on my and the Renegade's behalf, so if anyone wants to do anything about it besides me, then you can walk over to HerderHall, because Sauth certainly can't carry more than two." If only I'd been assigned to Z'yith's group... but she fought the thought off and mounted Sauth, turning quickly to 'Rath. "Thanks," she added, before giving Sauth the command to fly and take them to Herder...the girl would understand what she meant.
Let's go, Sauth, now the plan is...
