Subject: FBI Examines Missing Girls' Computers

OREGON CITY, Ore. -- The FBI is examining the computers used by two 13-year-old girls missing in Oregon.

The children disappeared from their apartment complex in Oregon City two months apart. Miranda Gaddis has been missing since last Friday. Ashley Pond vanished Jan. 9. The two have been close friends.

Investigators first thought they might be runaways but are now treating both cases as abductions. Agents said the girls were probably abducted by the same person, possibly somebody they knew.

An FBI spokeswoman said experts are examining computers the girls used to see if they had any online contact with anyone suspicious. The agency has received hundreds of tips through a special hot line and post office box, but nothing that's panned out.
