Acidell shook his head at the mess around the Weyrling Barracks. Obviously the Southern part of Pern where he came from was very different then here. Acidell looked over the mess again, eyebrow raised. He had been properly instructed in cleaning by Miruvia over and over. Mira took it for granted that he would listen to her, taking chances that no one else would dare. Acidell opened his mouth to say something, but then decided against it. Thies and Ari were way too involved in flits. Acidell couldn't figure that out. Why would anyone want something without fur and was as scrawny as them? Acidell decided against arguing that point. Taking advantage in the distraction Thies and Ari had made for him, Acidell balanced cleaning supplies in his arms and slid back into his room.

The windows already open, Acidell grabbed the soft, supple, wherry-hide dustcloth from the pile. Dust storms raged around the room, falling on Acidell and the floor. Acidell thoroughly swept off the two shelves hanging on the wall, the window sills, even the bed frame. This room seems to revolve around the number 2. I wonder if it was ever a double room.. Acidell pondered the thought as he shook the dust cloth out over the window. It was something worth thinking about.

Acidell dipped the stiff-bristled brush into the sudsy water. He had managed to purloin that one, for no one would throw it at each other. The brush whisked across the flat surfaces, digging out the minute dust particles. Acidell leaned into the work, releasing tensions and worries into the familar feel of washing and rinsing and drying. The familar routine of cleaning made him ache for Mira's chatter to fill the long candlemarks of cleaning. Acidell scrubbed harder at that thought. Instead his mind turned to the Candidates. Meaven's nice.. and I don't know. Thies seems a lot like how Mira describes me. I guess that's alright. The other two- Tyrus and Ari- them I'm not sure about. Acidell's attention was drawn from the shelf he had scrubbed four times over and his thoughts as a staccato bark echoed through the Weyr. Acidell, the soapy brush still in hand, wandered over to look out the window. No canine sat there, waving their tail. The noise came again as people walked in and out of the Weyr, slamming doors. Acidell blinked. At home, door slamming equalled a punishment of helping to clean out the canine kennels. He had learned quickly to train Mira not to slam doors- she was hopeless at cleaning his kennels. Maybe she just tried to be to get me to kick her out.. Acidell mused as he absently scrubbed the window sill.
