I boarded and became a crew member on the US Wayne in New Hebrides in August, 1945. Was in 4 invasions. Returned
to Oregon after the war had ended. Left the ship and was
reassigned to New Orleans until I got enough points to
be discharged.

I found a detailed movement of the Wayne on the Internet.
Will be glad to show you where to go to get it.
