The Sampson records are on un-indexed microfilm. Some of the records have been transcribed by Sal DeMilla and a number of other volunteers, but only a small portion of the huge volume of records have been done.
At this time, Sal is the only one still on the project, which would take decades to complete.
He sent me a copy of the database last year and while I did find a number of Holtz listed, no further data is available, and most only list the last name and the serial number.
You can send a request for copies of his records to the Government. The Navy keeps them in Missouri. If you want more information, contact me via email at amphibs@rpadden.com
