My father Joseph Arthur Jordan Fireman First Class USNR who began his naval service February 14th, 1944 at Sampson Naval Training Center, passed away September 13th, 2007 at the age of 81. He spent most of his tour on USS LCT 832 in the Pacific Theater from 1944 to February 1946. My Daddy had Parkinsons Disease the last 25 years of his life, and the last two years was bed ridden. I wish I would have been able to show him this wonderful website, I know he would have loved to look over all the great memories. I don't know for sure but I believe he might of been in Company 175. If anyone could clarify this I would appreciate it.
I would also like to know about any reunions that I could possibly attend or if you have a wall of honor. My father told me just before he passed he wanted his name on the wall at the base. I wasn't sure where he meant, but I believe he would of been honored to have it at Samson.
