 My grandpa was on board the Mellette during the war. There are several veterans still living and my dad is currently working on interviewing as many as he can. Grandpa never really shared what he and a close neighbor went through on board the ship but we have been able to piece together quite a bit! We've got a lot of pictures and stories if anyone is interested in learning more. We are also very interested in receiving any pictures you could send copies of by email as well interview any vets that were aboard during those years.
