 I was at Sampson from June to august in 1945 in E company. Went from there to home leave then to California awaiting to be sent to Japan as part of the invasion forces. Went to Okinawa on uss admiral benson spa ??. Was assigned to uss superior a minesweeper, then when it was leaving for states was transferred to yms 376, a wooden minesweeper sweeping and blowing up magnetic mines. Got discharged in 1946 went back in i 1948 served aboard uss Saipan cal-48 top discharge in 1950. Got called in for Korean " police action" (or war) and served aboard uss franklin D. Roosevelt cva-4 until discharge in 1952.
