Was at Sampson 6-23-45 to 9-5-45. Can't remember the company number. I think the CO was a second class named Collins. I can remember only two boots, Barnhart and Dudek. Both were older (in their 30's)and discharged right from boot camp. I would like to hear from anyone who remembers these men and/or the company number. After gun school I served aboad the USS Maumee, AG-124 and USS McCaffery, DD-860. Would like to hear from anyone who served aboard these ships. We have a McCaffery Association and newsletter.
