I left a message back in Febrary for another Montauk thread, but I've never heard anything again. My grandfather was a surgeon on this ship. He is deceased. I do not know if they had more than one doctor. But, I have his journal of their travels. And, I have a letters he wrote home during the war, as well as one from just afterward (on Mauntauk stationary) he wrote telling about the executive officer assuming command, and how he thought the guy was an idiot. Perhaps your father may be interested? Did he ever have contact with the ship's doctor?
